FUN FOR YOU & TODDLER

Mother Child

The "Real" Stuff: Toddlers are eager to be like you, using the phone, cooking and more. Engage them with make-believe phones (a small calculator), old dishes, dress-up clothes, musical instruments, brushes and dust pans.

Getting Ready to Read: Help develop early writing and reading skills by looking at and playing with props like take-out menus, catalogs or magazines. Get more fun activity ideas including printables, recipes and lyrics.

I like to move it, move it: As they grow, children are learning new ways to move- hopping, skipping, rolling. Make use of their energy and enthusiasm and build an obstacle course with box tunnels, hoola hoops, step stools and a hopscotch game finish.

Shared Moments: Some days it may not seem like it, but connecting with your child, even for a brief time a day, makes a world of a difference. Try special mini walks, themed meal nights, fixing things together, playing their games and of course, laughing.

Quick Water Art: Fill small bowl with water and take outside with paint brush. Create hearts or other shapes in the sun.

Quote Keepsake: Kids say the funniest things. Keep a collection of those priceless words along with photos in a homemade quote book. It's All About The Kids

SUPPORT SO YOUNG CHILDREN CAN BREATHE EASIER

asthmaDid you know that children with eczema and allergies are more likely to have asthma or that asthma can cause death? Most common symptoms are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, tightness in chest or difficulty in breathing. A little over 9 percent of children in the US have asthma according to the CDC. Children can never outgrow symptoms, but they can be managed. Find support including free screenings, educational puppet shows, action plans and materials through the Riverside County Health Department or Loma Linda University.
