Animal Samaritans, the Coachella Valley’s largest most-comprehensive animal welfare organization, is a 501 (c) non-profit organization founded in 1978 and dedicated to improving the lives of animals and people. In addition to providing quality, low-cost veterinary care to struggling pet owners, free pet therapy, animal rescuing, sheltering and adoptions, Animal Samaritans has been educating youngsters about responsible pet ownership, pet safety, the importance of spaying and neutering our pets, and respect for all living creatures.
Animal Samaritans' Critter Camp is coming to Riverside County's Family Resource Centers starting in July! Critter Camp is a fun and educational day camp which provides children ages 7-11 with hands-on experience and animal-related activities. In learning how to treat animals with respect, children learn how to treat all living things with respect.
Complete the interest form below and First 5 staff will be in touch with you to complete registration for your children. All campers receive free lunches and snacks, a camp t-shirt, and a camp bag filled with goodies.
Activities include:
- Live Animal Presentations: Children pet, play with, and take care of animals including dogs, birds, and reptiles.
- Arts and Crafts: Themed-camp art is a fun and educational way to teach children about animal science and habitats.
- Animal-Themed Games: Camp is not camp without games! Children learn teamwork to play games that teach them about how to care for animals.
- Animal Education: Presentations cover everything about animals including pet care, how to be kind to animals, and what it's like to be a veterinarian.
